BRUIN RUGBY & SCOTT STEWART RUGBY ACADEMY JULY 12-13 & JULY 19-20
CAMP SUMMARY: The 2008 BRUIN Rugby skills camps will assist young players with their basic skill and tactical development in a positive and fun learning environment! We are interested in helping young rugby players to maximize their enjoyment in rugby by gaining a deeper understanding not only of the rules, skills and tactics, but most importantly of its values of teamwork, sportsmanship and camaraderie. Head Coach Scott Stewart has a unique blend of playing and coaching experience at the developmental, professional and international levels of rugby. Each day will be packed with skill / tactical sessions, physical training workshops, and fun competitions intended to maximize the potential of each player.

LOCATION: Daniel Webster Middle School 11330 West Graham Place, Los Angeles, CA 90064

EQUIPMENT & WHAT TO BRING: All participants will receive a BRUIN Rugby T-shirt, a group photo and participation certificate! Please bring all of your rugby equipment including boots, runners, socks, shorts, jersey, water-bottle, mouth guard etc. Remember to pack your lunch and bring your own water!

INSURANCE: Each camper must have health insurance to participate.

HOW TO REGISTER: Please confirm that you wish to attend by contacting Coach Stewart directly via e-mail or phone. Then complete & return both the registration form and the attached waiver with your check payable to Scott Stewart Rugby Academy to the return address below. One form per camper please!

CANCELLATIONS: *We reserve the right to cancel a particular age-group session should the numbers not be sufficient. Individual Cancellations less than a week from camp commencement will not be refunded.

STAFF: Scott Stewart, Head Coach of the UCLA Bruins and winner of 64 caps for Canada will lead the sessions with various assistants. Coach Stewart played in the 1991, 95 & 99 World Cups & played 6 years as a pro at Harlequins and Bedford.

Year End Pary
Sorry for the date change again. Hope this FINAL date will be the most inclusive.

Time to celebrate a long and successful season that resulted in a final ranking of 5th in the Nation, the Cougars highest ranking ever! The Cougars will have a season ending party Thursday, June 12th beginning at 5:30 at the Zelek’s house.

Every player will be checked for ID. You must have it with you upon check in. No exceptions. Please turn in at practice a copy of your driver’s license or what ever picture ID you are submitting with proof of age.

Thursday, March 20: Game at 7:00 v Highland at Cantwell Sacred Heart Academy

Approximately 10-12 Cougar players will participate in the Thursday game which will combine Cougars with the best players from Back Bay, Orange County Gators, Hacienda Heights. The Cougars in this match will include reserve/varsity players. i.e. guys like Johnny, Jimmy, Anthony, Nolan, Mike, Joey, Lorenzo, Baily, Landon, Jack, Cameron, Taylor, Dylan. U16 will not participate. All players are expected to turn out to observe. There will be food served to the players at the Cantwell stadium. Between these two games, Thursday and Saturday, we hope to have 25 guys play against Highland. Great opportunity!

Saturday: Cougar Varsity v Highland at 10:00 at LMU

Saturday-Sunday: Fullerton Tournament

All players will participate in the tournament including U16s

Saturday Game Times: 11:55*, 1:40, 4:00

* players not in the Highland game at LMU should arrive at Fullerton at 11:15.

Sunday times subject to Saturday results. Grand Final at 4:30.

The more games we win Saturday the later we play Sunday.

The above squad must confirm their availability. This is the largest squad ever taken to Stanford. It is based upon our playing two full games (Jesuit & Stanford). Cost per player is $85 for transportation and hotel. Bring additional money for the drive and dinner Saturday at the Dutch Goose (burgers).

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend. The team is staying at the Crowne-Plaza-Cabana. The team will stay in the annexed rooms in the back. Parents typically, elect to stay at a separate hotel nearby. However, if you book at the Crowne, ask to stay in the front tower and ask for the Los Angeles Cougars rate.

Team departs from Eagle Rock Rec center upper parking lot at 7:00AM sharp.
We car pool in 7 seat vans driven by Cougar Dads. It is a 6 hour drive witgh stops.
Post game meal provided by Jesuit at the John Doyle Club House.
Return to Eagle Rock by 3:00.
